Property Description

The owners of this beautiful property have spent many years creating a charming and welcoming guest house that brings clients back year after year. The main building and the maisonette sit on a well maintained plot of 700 m2 which has a large vegetable garden, terrace and flower borders. The main building houses the private residence which is the largest part of the property. It is on the upper floors and is a spacious family home. There are 2 large bedrooms, bathroom, a lovely lounge with fireplace and a nice family kitchen with dining table. The upper floor, in the eaves, is currently an office and tv room. To the side of the building are 2 rental units which sleep up to 4 and 6 clients. They are both tastefully decorated in Alpine style and have ample water, fast internet and plenty of space. All of the bedrooms have en suite shower rooms. Beside the private residence is a small 1 bedroom unit which also has rental potential. Underneath the building is a vast vaulted cave, which has huge storage space and also houses the very energy efficient heating and hot water system for the property. There is also a work shop and ski / bike storage. To the side of the main building is the garage and maisonette. The garage has spaces for 3 cars, and electric doors. Underneath is the cosy summer quarters the owners use in the warmer periods of the year. This allows them to enjoy the lovely views and outside space from the comfort of the sheltered terrace. This property can easily generate a decent living for a small family or couple. It has a wonderful charm and warmth and provides great comfort to its owners as well as its guests. The Area… Fortville is one of the many hamlets and villages that make up the Serre Chevalier Valley. It is just 1km away from Briancon and all of the amenities it provides. The property is only 100 m from the bus stop that runs up and down the valley to the ski lifts and Briancon town. It is close to the local primary school and only a short walk away from the path that runs beside the Guisanne River all along the valley floor. The nearest airport is Turin, in Italy being only 125 kms away ( just 1 hr 20).

Serre Chevalier Ski Area

This “jewel in the crown” is one of the best kept secrets in the southern alps. Here the high tree line coupled with amazing off piste make it an all-round ski paradise. Unlike many other mountain resorts, The Serre Chevalier Valley is made up of many villages and hamlets as well as the town of Briancon, the highest town in France.

Monetier Les Bains, the highest of the villages ,has a typical alpine atmosphere as well as having the beautiful open air spa baths. Here you can relax after a hard days ski and enjoy the magnificent views of the hanging glacier and snow capped peaks.

Serre Chevalier isn't a purpose built resort and as such is an ideal place to consider having an alpine home with all of the facilities associated with normal living – transport, education and shops. At the same time this amazing resort is only a few kms away from hidden valleys, high mountain pastures and the vast Ecrin national park.

Transport to Serre Chevalier is much easier than before with regular flights to both Grenoble and Turin airports.

Sixt Fer a Cheval Ski Resort
