Evasion Mont Blanc
St Gervais les Bains, Les ContaminesSt Gervais les Bains in the Haute Savoie is a well known French spa town since the end of the 19th century , full of charater with some fantastic turn of the century buildings around the main square where the bustling weekly market draws locals and holidaymakers alike. Pick a table on the terrace of one of the many bars and cafes , soak up the sun and enjoy the atmosphere of a real French town. From December to April St Gervais is at the heart of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, including Megeve and Les Contamines and creating the 3rd largest ski area in France with 445 km of pistes, great offpiste options and 5 snowparks. If this is not enough the Tramway du Mont Blanc, one of only 3 mountain railways left if France takes you to the Col de Voza, from where you can ski to Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley. There is of course plenty for those who do not want to hurtle down the mountains, with snowshoe walks, cross county ski trails, dog sleds, swimming pool and spas, or meet up with the rest of the group at one of the restaurants on the mountain. As all the locals will tell you, Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe at 4810m is in St Gervais and gives fantastic year round backdrops. It also sets the scene for the summer with a huge range of activities on offer. Summer walks in the alpine pasture, stop off at a goat farm, or gaze up to the Mont Blanc range whilst relaxing at the new pool complex. Get pampered at Les Bains du Mont Blanc a spa, located in a beautiful ‘thermal park' offering a full range of treatments. Tennis , mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, a 65 m bungy jump from the new bridge and of course standing on top of Mont Blanc are just some of the things you can do in and around St Gervais . Local lakes offer beaches and swimming, sailing and more. Ideally located, Annecy, Italy and Geneva are all within an hours drive.

Jura
The Pays de Gex comprises 27 municipalities and has a population of over 80,000. It is located in the Franco-Geneva cross-border urban area known as “Greater Geneva” with almost 920,000 inhabitants. Located on the right bank of Lake Geneva, the Pays de Gex has the advantage of its close proximity to Geneva and its superb infrastructure: Geneva International Airport (13 million passengers in 2012), CERN (the biggest nuclear research laboratories in Europe), PALEXPO (congress and exhibition center best known for the famous annual Geneva Car EXPO), as well as Geneva's international district with many UN agencies, international organizations, and more then 250 NGOs. It is also a favorite destination for tourists as the Pays de Gex offers an exceptional quality of life and environment within a major urban area. It offers a wide range of sporting activities (magnificent cross-country and downhill skiing resorts in the Jura mountain range as well as the Alps, water activities, golf courses, horseback riding, paragliding, etc.). There are also many cultural and musical events, such as summer festivals, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and traditional historical events. The Pays de Gex opens the door to Europe at large, situated only a day's drive away to many other countries. It is one of the biggest international and cosmopolitan regions in Europe, characterized by its beautiful natural landscapes of vineyards, Lake Geneva and the beautiful panorama of the Alps and the Jura. Besides the beautiful landscape one can enjoy the many delicacies of the region representing the unique cultural backgrounds of the people. Start with the famous Swiss cheese and chocolate, then continue with French estragon and asparagus, finishing off with Italian truffle. What makes this region so special is the white wine. The vineyards spread across the steep slopes above the lake and complete the fantastic view with the panorama of the Alps. The wine from this region cannot be found anywhere in the shops. (This wine is typically not exported) The local winemakers keep the production relatively small in order to keep the quality superior and selling only from their farms or during frequents winetasting events, or to the local restaurants. One cannot miss to taste the white wine which is the local specialty. There is not need to add that Geneva offers the most luxurious shops mostly with watches, continue with famous Christies' s and Sotheby's auctions. The Pays de Gex is a slice of Paradise, offering something for everybody.

Massif des Bauges
Aillons-Margeriaz, Semnoz, La SambuyLake Annecy is one of the most sought after and beautiful areas of France. What is little known is that much of the lake falls within the Massif des Bauges, a well kept French secret, protected national park and an International Geopark. The Bauges is a hidden treasure stretching from Annecy to Aix-les-Bains and over to Chambery. From the centre of the Bauges you are within 25kms of any of these major tourist centres, just 55 minutes from Geneva airport and 30 kms from Chambery airport. The Bauges offers a wealth of sporting and cultural activities in a location that's hard to beat. With 3 family friendly ski areas including Aillons-Margeriaz; Le Semnoz and Savoie Grand Revard (the largest cross-country ski resort in France) there are some outstanding winter sports opportunities. In 2013 the Bauges hit the world stage as the venue for the final deciding stage of the Tour de France. Starting in Annecy, touring through the Bauges to an exciting first tour victory for Chris Froome on Mount Semnoz. Multiple cols and quiet roads make it truly heaven for cyclists. Whether you like swimming in the lakes, walking in the mountains, or any other outdoor activity, you'll find it here in the Massif des Bauges. Of course, there's always the option to just enjoy the tranquility of the area, marvel at the views and relax. To find an area of outstanding natural beauty in close proximity to major towns and airports is rare. And yet, incredibly, it is still possible to find characterful property to renovate and barns to convert at a more than reasonable price. At the other end of the spectrum you can find prestige properties with views over mountains and lakes. The Massif des Bauges region has something for everyone and something for every budget. But whatever home you choose, you'll be guaranteed an unrivalled environment and a lifestyle to lift your spirit.

Les Deux Alpes
Mont de Lans, Venosc; Alpe d'Huez: Bourg d'Oisans, Venosc, Vaujany, Oz, Ornon, Villard ReuclasLocated in the Southern Alps I cover the geographical area to the east of Grenoble, reaching as far as the world famous big mountain off-piste ski resort of La Grave. There are many small ski resorts located in this area such as Ornon, Oz, Vaujnay and Venosc. Many of these smaller resorts are linked to the two largest and better known resorts of Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes which has one of the largest skiable glaciers in Europe. This diversity in mountain locations provides a great variety of properties encompassing different styles and materials for those wishing to experience the alpine lifestyle either on a permanent basis or purely on vacation. From magnificent stone built eighteenth century conversions to ultra modern wooden chalets or just a small studio apartment there is something to suit everyone.

Three Valleys
Vallée de Belleville: Saint Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val ThorensIn the heart of the stunning Savoie region is the beautiful Belleville Valley, which makes up part of the world's largest linked ski resort, the Three Valleys. Whilst some of the resort has a purpose-built feel, this valley in general is (in my opinion) the most authentic and traditional-feeling of the whole Three Valleys, especially in and around the lovely year-round town of St Martin de Belleville. Higher up the valley is the multi award-winning resort of Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe – based at 2300m. Equally picturesque in the powder-filled winters as during the lush, green summer, this idyllic mountain spot is perfect as a base for skiing and for relaxing breaks throughout the year. Obviously there is always demand for properties here for rental, so you also have the potential to generate some income whilst owning a property in the area. To surmise – it is a wonderful location for a ski base, an investment opportunity or as a permanent home.

Meribel, Les AlluesMeribel is the central valley of the largest ski domain in the world, Les 3 Vallées. The strict architectural codes of alpine sloping rooflines, timber and stone cladding compliment the setting and make it one of the most attractive high altitude French ski resorts. It is however, much more than winter ski resort and an extended stay in summer or during the colours of autumn are needed to appreciate this. Méribel continues to become increasingly popular with the big spenders of the world and the strong capital growth over the years is likely to continue.

Paradiski
Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry, Bourg St MauriceParadiski is the second largest linked skiable domain in the world with 425km of pistes, two glaciers over 3000m high and 70% of the skiable domain higher than 2000m. We cover the Les Arcs area which includes Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the valley along with the ski resorts of Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950 and Arc 2000; and the Peisey-Vallandry area which includes Landry in the valley, Peisey-Nancroix villages, and Vallandry / Plan Peisey resorts. Although it is a world-renowned ski area, you can get excellent value for money when purchasing property here, whether you are looking at a small studio as a first investment, a village house, or a luxury chalet to start your own business. It is also one of the few resorts that can be reached entirely by public transport, with no need for expensive transfers. The Eurostar stops in Landry and terminates in the vibrant valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the funicular will take you directly up to Arc 1600 in just 7 minutes. In addition to all the winter activities available, Paradiski is a superb summer destination with walking, mountain bike trails, paragliding and even a golf course. In the valley you can find shops, a lovely cycle path alongside the river, white water rafting and some terrific destinations for a day out - the Petit Saint Bernard pass is just 40 minutes away and takes you over the border into Italy where you can sample some of the best pizzas and icecream!

Three Valleys
MeribelWe here are all thankful for the fortuitous discovery of the valley of Méribel by the original handful of British ski pioneers and for their vision which led to the birth of skiing in this valley and its development, and ultimately the development of the world renowned Three Valleys ski domain which surrounds it.Known locally as the heart of the three valleys Méribel has retained a unique charm and character born of a sensitive approach to architecture and town planning throughout those early years. Today Méribel resort is a beautiful example of harmony between well-appointed and beautifully designed chalets and apartments and a modern, sophisticated ski-lift system. This legacy extends today throughout the entire valley. The delightful village of Les Allues and the hamlets scattered along the valley have become home to many seeking an outdoor lifestyle with break taking views and magnificent scenery all year long. The Méribel valley is now a thriving international community with year round amenities and services. The perfect place for a change of life for a while, or perhaps even a little longer.

Evasion Mont Blanc
Les Contamines, Combloux, Megève, La GiettazI live in the beautiful spa town of Saint Gervais les Bains and work across all of the resorts that make up the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area. Whether you're here in the winter or summer, you can enjoy the natural beauty and alpine charm that this area offers. The whole area enjoys spectacular views of the Mont Blanc Massif and benefits from very easy access to Geneva airport (1 hour). There is also now the option of taking a direct train from Geneva to St Gervais-Le Fayet with the new Léman Express. The resort towns of Saint Gervais, Les Contamines, Combloux, Megève and La Giettaz offer 450km of pistes and make up the third largest ski area in France. We're spoilt for choice when it comes to winter sports activities with everything right on our doorstep. The downhill skiing spans from lovely wide green pistes for beginners to off-piste and everything in between. The resorts also offer a great selection of cross-country skiing, ice skating, snow shoeing or just relaxing in one of the many bars, cafes or excellent restaurants. We are also very lucky to have the Parc Thermal in Saint Gervais les Bains which houses the historic Thermal Baths. They have recently been completely refurbished and are a great option for resting tired muscles after a day's skiing! The historic Tramway de Mont Blanc (the highest railway in France) runs from the town of Saint Gervais and gives direct access to the neighbouring resort of Les Houches which sits in the Chamonix valley. In the summer months, you can take a leisurely stroll through the towns, stopping for a pain au chocolat and café au lait or be slightly more adventurous taking one of the many lifts up to the hiking, mountain biking, rock-climbing, via ferrata or even paragliding on offer at the top. Back down in the valley you can cool off white-water rafting or swimming in one of the beautiful (and often very fresh!) mountain lakes. St Gervais and Megève also both have fantastic swimming pool complexes open year-round with indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for topping-up your tan. This area offers amazing activities and facilities coupled with historic charm and natural beauty. Whether you're looking for a small studio in town or a chalet on the piste, I'd love to help you find your dream property!

Samoëns, Morillon, Verchaix et Sixt-Fer-à-ChevalThe picture-perfect villages of Samoëns, Morillon, Verchaix and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval sit in the stunning Vallée du Giffre, nestled between the Morzine and Chamonix valleys. Samoëns was described as one of France's best ski resorts by an article in the Telegraph back in 2012. From Samoëns, and the surrounding villages, the whole of the Grand Massif ski area and its 265 km of pistes – the fifth largest in Europe as it includes Flaine and Les Carroz – can be explored. The valley is just a 50 minute drive from Geneva, making it one of the most accessible snow-sure resorts in the French Alps. In summer, the Vallée du Giffre is just as popular with families and adventure seekers alike. They are drawn to the fabulous hiking opportunities and mountain biking – using the chairlifts for access. There’s an outdoor pool in Samoëns, a swimming lake in Morillon, whitewater rafting on the Giffre, plus tennis, pony trekking, adventure parks, weekly markets and numerous summer festivals. At the top of the valley is the quintessential mountain village of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. Surrounded by towering peaks, thundering waterfalls, and, crucially, no through road, it offers a peace and tranquility unrivalled in the Haute-Savoie. Samoëns itself is a ‘monument historique’ famed for its stonemasons and traditional Savoyard ambience and architecture. The village has a fabulous botanical garden, created in 1906, and the only one of its kind in the Alps, with more than 5,000 plants. While the locals do well to preserve their history, it would be unfair to say they aren’t looking to the future. In the last few years, several ski-lifts have either been upgraded or added in the Grand Massif. This is a resort on the up with year-round appeal and endless charm. For an overview of the area, search for ‘Samoëns Office de Tourisme’ on You Tube.

Savoie - Maurienne Valley
La Norma, Orelle, Saint Sorlin d’Arves - SybellesWelcome to the Maurienne valley. The lesser known valley of Savoie that has a real punch when it comes to outstanding opportunities/variety for snowsports activity, mountain sports and outright inspiring scenery. We (and I say "we", as this is my home) can ski any kind of terrain we want through all the normal months of the winter, with access to the 3vallees ski area for high altitude but also access to the 10+ Maurienne resorts each having unique charm and thrill seeking terrain...but also the traditional village "chocolate box" setting. By summer we are known for our unspoilt mountain access and altitude activities. If you're a cyclist... it's a dream... be it accessing the bucket list cols or mountain biking the tree lined descents. There's a real family attitude too.. something to inspire every generation. Down mountain we have beautiful savoyard villages with traditional hearts and community spirit. The real French touch and year round. The autoroute du Maurienne means we are well connected. From the valley bottom we are only just over 1 hr from Grenoble/ Lyon/ Geneva airports so access to Paris and London is in very reasonable time, meaning for those who need to keep connected but escape at the same time and quickly disconnect... this area is a high contender.

Haute-Savoie
Annecy, Villy le PelouxWelcome to The Haute Savoie, one of the many wonders of France and my home for the last 31 years. Haute-Savoie is a department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of Southeastern France, bordering both Switzerland and Italy.Annecy is the prefecture and largest city of the Haute-Savoie region. It lies on the northern tip of Lake Annecy, 35 kilometres south of Geneva. Nicknamed the “Venice of the Alps”, it is a true gem. Surrounded by the Aravis and Semnoz mountains, access to all local resorts makes for great winter sports. The lakes Leman, Annecy and Le Bourget provide a wonderful choice of summer activities, great for family and friends. There are plenty of biking and walking trails to be found around the lakes and into the surrounding hills, and for the not so faint hearted, parapenting enthusiasts fill the skies. The Château de Menthon, Chateau d’Annecy and Chateau Montrottier are just a few of many interesting medieval castles nearby. Colorful markets in Annecy old town, and the smaller villages, sell great produce from local farms in the area.

Les Deux Alpes, Alpe d'Huez Grand Rousses
Massif des Ecrins, Freney d'Oisans, Auris, Le Bourg d'Oisans, l'Alpe d'huez, Vaujany, BesseI have the chance to work as a real estate consultant in the mountain ranges of Oisans, a natural region of the French Alps, located in the departments of Isère and Hautes Alpes. This region has 4 ski areas, that of Alpe d'Huez Grand area which extends over 1000 hectares of ski slope; where you can ski the mythical black piste "la Sarenne", with its 2000m altitude difference and 16km length making it the longest marked piste in the world. The 2 Alpes area is also well known for its glacier, which is the largest skiable glacier in Europe! You can ski between 3200m and 3600m above sea level, or 400m of elevation gain, and it’s very pleasant to ski there in summer. For the more experienced skiers, there’s the off-piste area of The Grave la Meije, with its cable car that takes you up to 3200 m in 30 minutes, you can ski in the powder far from the marked slopes. Holidaymakers more adept at Nordic skiing can go to the Col d'Ornon resort, and ski on pleasant slopes that wind through a beautiful Alpine forest. When we think mountain destination, often we think winter sport, however, summer tourism has developed strongly in recent years in resort, and many holidaymakers come hiking, equally many come for downhill mountain biking, especially in the 2alpes where we have 98km of baled slopes and 6 ski lifts dedicated to mountain biking. So in our region, we are not bored, and whether you are a great rider, very good skier, or simple contemplative of these wonderful mountain landscapes that Mother Nature offers us, you will enjoy the feeling of plenitude, and freedom that the great outdoors offers. And whether you have the desire to acquire an apartment, a chalet, for a rental investment, or the wish to acquire your little nest for your family, I look forward to accompanying you in your beautiful project.

ChamrousseOriginally from the Picardy countryside, my partner, my daughter and I moved to Grenoble to be closer to my family-in-law, and to tell you the truth, I am not disappointed! The living environment we have here is exceptional. In the summer we are only three hours from the Mediterranean Sea and in the winter we are only a few minutes from the ski resorts. The hikes here lead to some incredible spots. I really enjoy living close to the metropolis, where it's nice to go out with friends and family!

Maurienne Valley
Orelle, La Norma, Saint Sorlin d’Arves - Sybelles, ValfrejusWelcome to the Maurienne Valley, an enchanting destination nestled amidst the French Alps. Picture yourself surrounded by a panorama of snow-capped peaks and quaint alpine villages providing unparalleled natural beauty, authentic charm, gastronomic cheesy delights and serenity. The Valley is a winter wonderland during the snowy months, with no less than 19 ski resorts to choose from. There is something for everyone, from the longest green slope in Europe, the “escargot” in Val Cenis, to 3-star rated freeride runs in Bonneval-sur-Arc and Valfréjus. Add to that the quick and easy access to the largest ski area in the world, the 3 Vallées, via the Orelle gondola lift. As the snow melts, the valley undergoes a surreal transformation, revealing lush green landscapes, blooming wildflowers and glistening mountain streams. There is a plethora of adrenaline-boosting activities for all ages and interests, not forgetting some of the most iconic mountain passes in the Tour de France (the Col de l’Iseran and the Col du Mont Cenis to start with) making it a challenging and rewarding playground for cycling enthusiasts. Otherwise, embrace life in the slow lane and disconnect while witnessing bearded vultures soar gracefully overhead. This area is truly unbeatable, throughout the seasons.

Chamonix-Mont Blanc
Chamonix, Argentière, Les HouchesWith stunning mountain views, wildlife and the Arve river that runs through the villages, the Chamonix valley is one of the most beautiful places in France. And there is something here for everyone be it hiking, biking, mountain climbing, and skiing, or shopping, visiting spas and eating out at the many restaurants and cafes. It is a place that vibrates with activity but is at the same time relaxing: outdoor life and social or cultural outings often mix be it with music festivals, various world championships, or simply having lunch on a mountain slope. The Chamonix valley has plenty of towns that one can explore, such as Servoz, Les Houches, Chamonix, Les Praz, Tines, Le Lavancher and Argentière, and each has its own special character. An active community can be found in all these towns which are made up of families having school age children, young workers, and retired people. There are multiple elementary schools in the valley, libraries, cinemas, concert spaces, a general high school, a medical centre, and all the shops and public transportation needed to support the permanent population, along with those who enjoy having a second residence in the area, and the seasonal tourists. Chamonix is the perfect location to have as a home base, from which one can travel to other mountains or regions in France (perhaps to ski in Les Contamines, Saint Gervais, and Megève or go swimming in Passy) or enjoy touring the neighbouring towns of Annecy and Aix-Les-Bains. Plus, both Italy and Switzerland are close by, so one would never run out of places to visit. And many destinations are easily done by car or public transportation for a day trip. As if that were not enough, the International Geneva airport is only an hour away, so the possibilities really are limitless.
MUCH MORE THAN JUST SKI PROPERTY
When you think of the French Alps, you would be forgiven for thinking "SKI" but there is so much more. We have soaring mountain ranges, lush valleys, rushing water, still lakes and farmland plains. We also have great weather to top it off, and the four seasons are very clearly and wonderfully defined.Undoubtedly this is a stunning region all year round.
